Thank you to those who supported and attended Groundswell Joy Collective’s first annual participatory celebration and production bringing community together to experience the joy and creativity of community Singing, Dancing, Storytelling, Silence, and Puppetry —We look forward to seeing you again next year!
Our annual celebration takes place on the eve of the feast of Saint Brigid — which in the Irish Calendar signifies the time of the year when the seeds begin to stir, the light begins to grow, and Spring is on its way!
Using art and puppetry, Brigid’s Flame performers engage the audience in Storytelling, Song, Dance, and Silence as together we explore our human connection to one another, to the earth, and to her creatures through a mythical retelling of Irish folklore:
Brigid: Saint and Irish goddess of the land
The Cailleach: Wise one who shapes the land, and is as old as time
Selkies: Seals who become human by shedding their skin
Grounded in the Rhythms of Nature…
This annual celebration serves as a touchstone from which our growing Groundswell Joy Collective will more regularly weave the universal healing salves of Song, Dance, Story, and Silence into our community year round!

Brigid’s Flame features the music and song leadership of Lyndsey Scott, a recognized artist in the national community singing movement!
Groundswell Joy Collective has been singing Lyndsey’s music for years. Her simple, soulful songs are grounded in themes of healing, connection to the earth, love of place, courage, and community — all deeply resonant with Brigid’s Flame.
